Fallout: Lanius raises over $19,000

Fallout: Lanius has finally finished it’s crowd funding. To say it has been one of the biggest undertakings of my very short career is a massive understatement. We all poured ourselves into the campaign, because we understood we had the opportunity to make something cinematic and beautiful in the Fallout Universe. We aimed to raise $10,000 and we raised over $19,000. People having that kind of faith in us is really incredible.

At the same time as our campaign we were shooting bits and pieces for the film. I would say that I have never been so overjoyed and exhausted as I was last week. The thing is, Fallout: Lanius isn’t some kind of career thing for me. It’s a work of pure passion. I’m happy that people are excited about it, but in the end what I need to do is produce a great film first – no matter what. I’m so proud of what we’ve accomplished – especially so as we’re a little indie company from Perth, Western Australia.

At the same time this was all happening, we released a very rough teaser of our film- it did over 80,000 views in less than a week.

It’s been a huge learning curve wading into the YouTube community (no pun intended). 2012 has been a ridiculous year in terms of personal projects, and I feel that I’ve done everything I could to produce the best possible work of my career.  I am so excited to push on with Fallout: Lanius – and I can’t wait for you all to see it!

We’ve had some huge things happen for us lately!

We’ve released our First Video Update:

We’ve raised $7000, and still need to raise $3000 in the next 32 days! We begin our 3rd Day of Fight training this weekend, and we are currently locking off the Armour design for both Lanius and the Legion Soldiers.

We’ve started our Pre Production process in regards to CGI and VFX Plates (but to be honest, we don’t want to shoot much CGI as we want the film to look as realistic as possible).

We’ve started construction on elements of the Tridebark Village, as well a huge amount of new weapons and props.

The Special FX Makeup Team behind Fallout: Lanius has just official Launched their new Company – The Makeup FX Workshop. Designers Naomi D. Lynch and Kate Anderson have been creating some amazing props for Fallout: Lanius.

Fallout: Lanius Funding Begins

Perth, Western Australia- (September 5, 2012) Australian Filmmaker Wade K. Savage is happy to announce that the Crowd Funding Campaign for “FALLOUT: LANIUS” has begun.

Having announced the film in April, Savage and the team have run a successful online marketing campaign. Having picked up numerous stories across international video game websites, the team has revealed they are seeking $10,000 in production funding via IndieGoGo.com.

The team is offering a wide range of perks for supporters of the film. Lower tier perks include HD Downloads and signed theatrical posters whilst higher up the ladder supporters can receive a limited edition pendant prop from the film.

Top tier perks include numbered and signed images of the titular character Legate Lanius by original voice actor Mitch Lewis. The top perk, pledged at $1000.00, will be a one of a kind prop sword used during the production of the film.

The team has also released a funding video, outlining their vision for the film. In the video, Savage explains “We don’t just want to make a not for profit fan film, we want to make a small piece of cinema in the Fallout Universe – and we need your help to do it”.

“FALLOUT: LANIUS” is a blood soaked high concept action epic, which will explore the origin story of the primary antagonist “Legate Lanius” from the 2010 video game “Fallout: New Vegas”.

“On the brink of ruin, the Hidebark people are about to be wiped out by the slaving organization, Caesar’s Legion. However, their most ruthless warrior would prefer death to dishonour. “FALLOUT: LANIUS” will recount how a single man brings ruin to his people due to his lust for bloodshed and victory.”
